CalFresh Volunteer

What is CalFresh?

CalFresh is a USDA funded entitlement program that helps one receive the funds they need in order to have access to nutritious groceries. This program will be targeted towards the students at CSUSM to reduce food insecurity on campus.

What does the CalFresh Volunteer Team look like?

The CalFresh Volunteer Team consists of up to 5 students. They will represent ASI, the ASI Cougar Pantry, and ASI CalFresh. They will contribute to space as well as space marketing and event promotions. Volunteers will be advocating and encouraging fellow students to sign up for CalFresh and be aware of that specific resource.

Volunteers will gain knowledge of internal ASI BOD, marketing, networking, CalFresh, food insecurity, food safety, and basic needs. Volunteers will also learn about effective teamwork, communication, and organization.

This is a great way to help students on campus have access to nutritious groceries and be more involved on campus!
