Anthony Jett is from Benton Harbor, Michigan. He is the current Associate Director for the Black Student Center at California State University in San Marcos, CA. He is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, with a bachelor’s of science degree in Secondary Education, and has an earned master’s degree in Higher Education Administration & Leadership from the Northcentral University of Prescott, Arizona. Most recently, Mr. Jett is in the final year of completing his doctorate degree at Northcentral University in Higher Education with a specialization in Educational Leadership. His research is in the intercultural and career experiences of African-American men in leadership at predominantly white institutions. Throughout Mr. Jett’s career as a college business instructor and TRIO professional; his focus has been on helping the underserved student populations. As a leader in education access and attainment, he strives to create opportunities and support change initiatives for the betterment of all students. Mr. Jett’s community involvement & affiliations have included member of The Journey Church, Benton Harbor, MI; the Education Opportunity Association (EOA) Emerging Leaders Institute (2012), Michigan Department of Education AP Advisory Council, Past President of TRiO Michigan Association, and Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; South Bend, Indiana Chapter. In his spare time, Mr. Jett loves to travel, attend cultural activities and events, listen to live jazz and r & b music, advocate for Autism Awareness, cook and spend time with family and friends.
