My role at Cal State San Marcos

As a Career Peer at Cal State San Marcos I present students with various resources for career and major exploration. I help students to construct or reorganize their resumes and cover letters to the expectations of employers. My role also includes outreaching to students in collaboration with the various centers on campus as well as connecting with alumni to highlight how the career center has helped them with their success stories.

My career path

In 2015 I graduated from Ramona High School in Ramona, CA. As a fourth year student at Cal State San Marcos my career path is still developing. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Human Development with a concentration in Health Sciences. I have two different career paths in mind for my future. One is to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and the other is to continue in the Student Affairs field as an Academic or Career Counselor.

The rewards in doing what I do

I love being able to provide students with the assistance that I know I needed when I first started attending Cal State San Marcos. I enjoy making a positive impact on the Cal State San Marcos campus by providing students with the tools they need to accomplish their goals.

My words of wisdom to students

Take on an internships or job shadows to see what a day to day looks like in a career you're interested in, so that you can find out if it is a good fit for you.

In my free time

I like to spend time with family and friends, going to amusement parks especially Disneyland, going to the beach, and hiking. I would really love to travel to countries with beautiful natural scenery like Switzerland.
