Roy Meenes

Roy Meenes has over thirty years experience in public and private industry including planning and land use development. This experience also included management level positions in municipal government and human resources. He was responsible for labor salary negotiations for public safety and administrative employee groups.

While serving in the capacity of Human Resources Director for an agency of over 600 employees, he recruited for positions in public safety and various administrative/service positions. He also provided career advancement training to employees providing them critical skills in resume development and interviewing techniques.

Early in his career, Roy attained a California Real Estate Broker license and practiced commercial brokerage facilitating and negotiating property acquisitions for local and multinational corporations.

He is an experienced administrative and political strategist applying his skills in managing municipal government operations and political campaigns. These attributes served him well in effectively serving as an advisor to elected officials.

Roy is a natural leader building partnerships and assisting others in attaining their goals and aspirations.

Currently, he is Vice Chair of the City of Carlsbad Planning Commission. Also, he is a active member of the Rotary Club of Carlsbad.

Roy completed his Masters degree in Pubic Administration (MPA) at San Diego State University and also holds a Bachelor's degree in the major. After attaining his degrees, he became an instructor of Public Administration at the College of Extended Studies.

Roy is married with one child and resides in Carlsbad, California.
