Academic Advising for CSTEM

Provides academic advising to all admitted undergraduate students with majors and/or minors in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CSTEM) at CSUSM.

Disability Support Services

The Office of Disability Support Services (DSS) has been designated to provide services and accommodations to students with disabilities to ensure that they have both equal opportunity and access in their educational pursuits. The DSS office is located within Suite 4200 of the Administrative Building.

Office of Graduate Studies and Research

CSUSM Student Travel Funding to Present Research OGSR offers opportunities for undergraduate students on an ongoing basis until funding is depleted.

Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Fund The Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities fund is designed to help undergraduate students capitalize on scholarship and creative activity completed at CSUSM. Appropriate activies include support for travel to a conference at which a student's paper or poster has been accepted.

STEM Student Success Center

The STEM Student Success Center supports all students by providing an open and welcoming environment with resources such as study space, peer edcuators, networking, and professional development workshops. Free drop-in tutoring is currently available for selected courses in BIOL, CHEM, CS, MATH and PHYS.  

Student Health & Counseling Services

A supportive, confidential setting in which your concerns can be addressed.  Students come to counseling services for many reasons:

  • To resolve personal problems that interfere with academic performance, such as anxiety, depression, loss, financial problems, relationship and family conflict.
  • To build self-esteem and self-confidence.
  • To clarify personal and professional values and goals.
  • To develop more effective stress management, problem solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction offers out-of-class study and review sessions for difficult courses. SI supplements, but does not replace out-of-class preparation for the course. All students in designated course sections wanting to improve understanding of course content and grades are urged to participate weekly.
