The STEM Student Success Center is a component of the Centers for Learning and Academic Success Services (CLASS) under the Office for Undergraduate Studies. We strive to increase the number of students receiving degrees in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
The center supports all students by providing an open and welcoming environment with resources such as study space, peer edcuators, networking, and professional development workshops. Our goal is to guide students in developing the skillset and self-confidence needed to succeed in the STEM disciplines through the imlpementation of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) model and peer led tutoring in our center.
The STEM Student Success Center is located in ACD 202. During the semester, the center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays. Free drop-in tutoring is currently available for selected courses in BIOL, CHEM, CS, MATH and PHYS.
The Academic Success Center strives to create a collaborative and empowering, student-centered environment that promotes self-advocacy, self-reflection, community-building, wellness, and overall success. It is our goal to support students in their academic journey through one-on-one academic coaching with trained staff and peer coaches as well as discipline-specific academic programming.
The Career Center offers information about resumes, interviewing, job search, grad school, career direction and other career related topics. Workshops are offered throughout the semester.
OTRES is committed to increasing diversity in the STEM disciplines. Visit the OTRES website for more information.
