Our meetings focus on informing our members about the many opportunities that are available to them as students like summer programs and on-campus research. Throughout the year we participate in many outreach opportunities where we show kids how awesome chemistry is through either chemistry demos or helping kids conduct their own experiments. Every year our members volunteer at local science festivals like Chem Expo and Super STEM Saturday.

American Indian Studies (AIS) at Cal State San Marcos is committed to Indigenous academic excellence and community based participatory research. A Major and Minor in AIS are offered. Our goal is to create culturally intelligent graduates who will contribute to the workforce, including providing leadership to Tribal Nations and Indigenous organizations. Our courses include tribal community engagement—with guest lectures, field trips, participatory research, and service-learning activities. Our department collaborates with Native communities, California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center and engages students in scholarly academic activities that promote and strengthen tribal and cultural sovereignty.

California Indian Culture & Sovereignty Center (CICSC) fosters collaborative research and community service relationships between the faculty, staff, and students of Cal State San Marcos and members of Tribal communities, for the purpose of developing and conducting research projects that support the maintenance of sovereignty and culture within those communities. The primary goal of the Department of Biological Sciences at Cal State San Marcos is to help students develop the theoretical, practical, and analytical tools necessary to appreciate the breadth of biology and pursue their specific research interests and career goals. In addition, Cal State San Marcos Biology students have exceptional opportunities to pursue cutting-edge research in well-equipped, modern laboratories.
As early as their sophomore year, undergraduates are encouraged to participate in faculty-supervised research projects which provide practical experience in experimental design, data collection and analysis, and oral/written presentation of experimental findings. The Ethnic Studies program prepares students for a variety of occupations where knowledge and understanding of racial and ethnic groups are essential. Graduates of the Ethnic Studies Program pursue careers in both public and private sectors, such as business, education, law, medicine, public health, corrections, social work, journalism, public relations, politics, psychology, international relations, and creative writing. Students in the geography program develop a solid grounding in geographic fundamentals. They study the global food system, ancient landscapes in the Middle East, and global climate change through hands-on experiences and classes featuring high impact projects like student research presented at the annual CSUSM research symposium. They also develop core skills in GIS and other field methods.

- Human Development Club, CEHHS, ARTS
The Human Development (HD) Club is a club open to all students, although a majority of our members are Human Development majors. We have meetings every other Tuesday from 12-1pm, virtually. At these meetings we usually bring in career-based speakers and resources on campus as well. Our club also has a $10 fee for new members, and a $5 each semester after that for returning members.
For the career-based speakers, we bring in people that work in Human Service settings, usually the careers that many HD majors want to go into. These people are usually CSUSM alumni, professors, or individuals that the officers got in contact with. They go over their current position, as well as the route they took to get there (school, qualifications, experiences, etc.). These are a great way for our members to ask career specific questions that will help them in their future career goals.
For the resources on campus, we bring in speakers from the different departments around campus that we believe will benefit the members. We've had meetings that go over building your resume (career center), cougar pantry, how to deal with stress management (SHCS), HD advisor, etc. We want to ensure that our members know the resources that are available to them around campus and get their questions answered.

The Liberal Studies major has two options, the Elementary Subject Matter Option (ESM) and the Integrated Teacher Education Program Option (ITEP).
- Elementary Subject Matter Preparation Option for teachers (ESM)
- Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP). This major option provides those pursuing a K-8 teaching career with an accelerated pathway to becoming a California teacher.

The Linguistics Major at CSUSM provides students with a comprehensive study of the core areas of linguistics and the opportunity to specialize in one of three areas: Language, Culture, and Society; Speech and Language Sciences; and Language Studies. The core curriculum is designed to give students a strong foundation in the general study of linguistics, while the specialization options allow students the opportunity to focus their linguistics study in an area that aligns with their interests as well as prepares them for future graduate work or careers.

The College Assistance Migrant Program is a unique educational program at California State University San Marcos. This program aims to help students from migrant and seasonal farm worker backgrounds to succeed in college.
CAMP is a national program that was established over thirty years ago and has helped thousands of students accomplish their educational goals. CSUSM was fortunate to have been awarded the CAMP grant in 2002.
CAMP offers students pre-college transition and first-year support services to help develop the skills needed to stay in school and successfully graduate from college. CAMP students complete their first year and graduate at a higher rate than other students.
