Oct 17	Winter Intersession Enrollment – Enrollment for eligible students begins Oct. 17 and continues through add/drop for winter intersession You may enroll in up to 4 units You will be assigned an enrollment date which will allow you to enroll in Winter Intersession courses only (note: this is prior to your date to enroll for the regular academic session for the Spring semester). Winter Intersession courses begin on January 3, 2023 (online and hybrid online courses will begin on December 19, 2022).Different fee and refund schedules apply. For detailed information about student fees, adding or dropping courses and refund information, visit the Winter Intersession webpage. ** Please be aware of the start date of Winter Intersession courses. Course start dates vary over the session.
Nov 14	Spring 2023 class schedule available
Nov 16	Continuing student enrollment begins for eligible students: Students may enroll up to 16 units during this time period (note: Winter Intersession units do not count toward the 16-unit limit) Students may waitlist up to 10 units Graduating seniors may enroll up to 19 units Students on Academic Notice may not register for more than 14 units
Dec 13	New student enrollment begins for eligible students
Dec 19	Winter Intersession 2023 begins.Increased enrollment unit limit Students may enroll up to 19 units beginning at 3pm (note: Winter Intersession units do not count toward the 19-unit limit).
Dec 20	DEADLINE Last day to drop a Winter Intersession course with no academic record for the session. Beginning December 21, a “W” will be recorded. Withdrawals on/or after December 21 may be granted by petition for serious and compelling reasons only.
Jan 14	Last day of classes for Winter Intersession. Intersession grades will be official with Spring 2023 grades in June. Grades will be posted and available for viewing as instructors submit and approve grade rosters.
Jan 18	DEADLINE - Spring 2023 Tuition & Fees due First installment due, see Student Financial Services website for information.
Jan 20	DEADLINE – Last day to file an Undergraduate Request for Educational Leave of Absence for Spring 2023.
Jan 22	DEADLINE – Drop all courses using MyCSUSM until 11:59 p.m. and receive full refund of fees, less any administrative charge.Students who drop after this date will be charged prorated fees for each day that has elapsed from the first day of the semester
Jan 23	INSTRUCTION BEGINS - First day of Spring 2023 classes that meet the full session of the term and those that meet the first 8-week session (8W1) of the term.
Jan 23 - Feb 3	Add/drop period: Students may add or drop classes in MyCSUSM without penalty (no W grade) for full semester classes. Jan 23-Jan 27 Students may enroll in open classes in MyCSUSM (green on the class schedule) without a permission number (a permission number is required for closed and waitlisted classes or those requiring instructor consent); through 11:59pm PST on Jan 27. Jan 28 – Feb 3 All classes require a permission number to enroll. Open University, Over-60 Program, Cross Enrollment Visitor, Intrasystem Visitor, and Intrasystem Concurrent, CSU Employee (non-degree seeking) applications and enrollments processed during this period.
Jan 28	Last day to drop classes with no academic record for a spring class that meets the first 5-week session (5W1) of the term.
Jan 30	Last day to drop classes with no academic record for a spring class that meets the first 8-week session (8W1) of the term.
Feb 3	DEADLINE(S) Last day to change grading option to Credit/No Credit Last day to change from full-time (over 6.1 units) to part-time (6.0 units or less) status and be eligible for refund for the difference in fees.
Feb 4	$25 Late Registration and $15 Late Add Fee in effect for all sessions of term.
Feb 4 - Feb 16	Withdrawals completed in MyCSUSM will be result in a "W" grade for classes that meet the regular 16-week session.
Feb 16	DEADLINE - Last day to withdraw from classes (with “W” grade) in MyCSUSM (i.e. students must submit withdrawal petition in order to withdraw from courses after 11:59pm on Feb 16) The following are the deadlines to withdraw from classes in MyCSUSM with a W grade for other sessions in the semester (an official withdrawal after these dates requires an approved petition): First 5 Week (5W1): Jan 31 First 8 Week (8W1): Feb 5
Feb 17	CENSUS DAY Beginning census day, withdrawal from regular 16-week classes require approval and may be granted by petition for serious and compelling reasons only.
Mar 15	DEADLINE: Graduation application deadline for Spring and Summer 2023 graduation.If your application is not submitted by the deadline, your name will not appear in the Commencement program and there may be a delay in conferring your degree.
Mar 18	First day of class for Spring 2023 classes that meet the second 8-week session of the term.
Mar 20 – 25	Spring Break
Mar 24	Last day to drop classes with no academic record for a spring class that meets the second 8-week session (8W2) of the term.
Mar 31	Campus Closed - Cesar Chavez Day
April 14	DEADLINE – Last day to submit Mid-Session withdrawal petition. Withdrawal petitions submitted after this date are considered Late Withdrawals.
May 12	Last day of classes that meet the full session of the term; last day of classes that meet the second 8-week session (8W2) of the term.
May 13 - 18	Final Exam Period
May 19 - 20	Commencement
May 25	Grades due from instructors.Though grades may be viewed immediately following the grade submission deadline for instructors, grades are not official until Friday, June 2, 2023 at 5:00pm.
May 29	Campus Closed - Memorial Day
June 2	Spring 2023 grades official and available on MyCSUSM.
