Oct 14 Winter Intersession Enrollment – Enrollment for eligible students begins Oct. 14 and continues through add/drop for winter intersession 
  • You may enroll in up to 4 units
  • You will be assigned an enrollment date which will allow you to enroll in Winter Intersession courses only (note: this is prior to your date to enroll for the regular academic session for the Spring semester). 
  • Students on Academic Notice must meet with an Advisor prior to receiving an enrollment date for Winter Intersession
Winter Intersession courses begin on January 2, 2025 (online and hybrid online courses will begin on December 20, 2024).Different fee and refund schedules apply. For detailed information about student fees, adding or dropping courses and refund information, visit the Winter Intersession webpage. ** Please be aware of the start date of Winter Intersession courses. Course start dates vary over the session.
Nov 13 Enrollment dates for Spring 2025 assigned to continuing students (emails will be sent at 5pm)
Nov 14 Spring 2025 class schedule available

Continuing student enrollment begins for eligible students:

  • Students may enroll up to 16 units during this time period (note: Winter Intersession units do not count toward the 16-unit limit)
  • Students may waitlist up to 10 units
  • Graduating seniors may enroll up to 19 units
  • Students on Academic Notice may not register for more than 14 units

Dec 11 New student enrollment begins for eligible students

Enrollment unit limit increased

  • Students may enroll up to 19 units beginning at 3pm (note: Winter Intersession units do not count toward the 19-unit limit).
Dec 20

Winter Intersession 2025 begins.

Dec 21
DEADLINE Last day to drop a Winter Intersession course with no academic record for the session. Beginning December 22, a “W” will be recorded. Withdrawals on/or after December 22 may be granted by petition for serious and compelling reasons only.
Jan 11 Last day of classes for Winter Intersession. Intersession grades will be official with Spring 2025 grades in June. Grades will be posted and available for viewing as instructors submit and approve grade rosters.

Jan 19 DEADLINE – Last day to file an Undergraduate Request for Educational Leave of Absencefor Spring 2024.
Jan 20 DEADLINE – Drop all courses using MyCSUSM until 11:59 p.m. and receive full refund of fees, less any administrative charge.Students who drop after this date will be charged prorated fees for each day that has elapsed from the first day of the semester
Jan 21 INSTRUCTION BEGINS- First day of Spring 2025 classes that meet the full session of the term and those that meet the first 8-week session (8W1) of the term.
Jan 21

Add/drop period: Students may add classes and drop classes in MyCSUSM without penalty. Note: students may continue to drop classes without penalty (no W grade) through the day before census.

Jan 21-Jan 24 Students may enroll in open classes in MyCSUSM (green on the class schedule) without a permission number (a permission number is required for closed and waitlisted classes or those requiring instructor consent); through 11:59pm PST on Jan 24.

Jan 27 – Feb 3 All classes require a permission number to enroll. 

Open University, Over-60 Program, Cross Enrollment Visitor, Intrasystem Visitor, and Intrasystem Concurrent, CSU Employee (non-degree seeking) applications and enrollments processed during this period.

Feb 3

DEADLINE - Last day to change grading option to Credit/No Credit

Feb 4
  • $25 Late Registration (i.e., first time enrolling in any classes for the term) and $15 Late Add fee (additional class added to existing schedule) in effect for all sessions of the semester
  • Late Enrollment Petition required to enroll
Feb 16

Last day to drop class(es) with no academic record for courses in thefull session  of the term (i.e. students must submit withdrawal petition in order to officially withdraw from courses after 11:59pm PST on Feb 16) 

Feb 17

CENSUS DAY 

Beginning census day, withdrawal from course(s) requires approval and may be granted by petition for serious and compelling reasons only. 

Mar 15 DEADLINE:Graduation application deadlinefor Spring and Summer 2025 graduation.If your application is not submitted by the deadline, your name will not appear in the Commencement program and there may be a delay in conferring your degree.
Mar 15 First day of class for Spring 2025 classes that meet the second 8-week session of the term.

Apr 11 Last day to petition for a Mid-Session Withdrawal with an approved serious & compelling reason (not eligible for a refund); see Course Withdrawal page for details.

Last day of classes that meet the full session of the term; last day of classes that meet the second 8-week session (8W2) of the term.
May 10 - 15 Final Exam Period 
May 16 - 17 Commencement
May 22 Grades due from instructors.Though grades may be viewed immediately following the grade submission deadline for instructors, grades are not official until Friday, May 30, 2025 at 5:00pm.
May 30 Spring 2025 grades official and available on MyCSUSM.
