Building Bridges Partnership

The goals of the “Building Bridges Partnership Conference” are to attract transfer students, historically economic and  educationally disadvantaged students to Cal State University San Marcos EOP; enhance collaborative efforts with the local area community colleges as well as other Cal State San Marcos departments, and provide essential information to potential Cal State San Marcos students regarding the various steps necessary for completing the process for University and EOP admissions; as well as completing the process for financial aid assistance.

This conference will provide students with a seamless contact points with community college and University counseling staff that will result in an successful affective transition experience. The conference is designed to answer transfer student's questions, ease student concerns and offer the necessary foundation for a successful transition from the local community colleges to California State University, San Marcos.

Programming topics include workshops/presentations/panels related to the transition process (review of application/admissions processes to the University and the EOP program; review of the financial aid resources and application process for students; presentation of academic programs at CSUSM; student panel on topics related to the transition experience; motivational/inspirational guest speakers; review of campus resources (housing, counseling, grants, organizations, etc) that are available to students.
