California State University San Marcos welcomes all CSU-eligible first time freshmen and upper-division (60 or more semester units) transfer applicants.

  1. Visit www.CSUMentor.edu, California State University’s comprehensive Web site. Here, you can find information and resources and fill out an online application.
  2. Submit a non-refundable application processing fee of $55. This is required for each campus to which you apply. The application fee may be waived if you are a California resident from a low-income family for whom the application fee would result in an undue financial hardship. The fee waiver is available online using CSUMentor.
  3. Transfer, post baccalaureate, credential and graduate applicants must send official transcripts to CSU San Marcos from each college or university attended.  First time freshman applicants must submit official scores from the ACT or SAT Reasoning exam.
  4. You will be issued a campus ID number and password which will allow you to monitor the status of your application on MyCSUSM.
