The Department of Biological Sciences at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2017 to teach Biol 178 - Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology for Kinesiology II. This course is designed for Kinesiology majors. Lecture and lab times may include daytime and/or evening hours. *Classes run from 8/28/2017 through 12/9/2017, final exam will fall between 12/11/2017 and 12/16/2017. Grades due 12/21/2017.
BIOL 178 (4) Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology for Kinesiology II - The second in a two-course series designed to introduce the principles of human anatomy and physiology for students in Kinesiology. Taught from a systems perspective students will learn basic physiological principles and mechanisms along with their associated anatomical basis. Material includes nervous system and the senses, and the endocrine, reproductive, cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Three hours of lecture and three of hours of laboratory. Enrollment requirement: BIOL 177. Enrollment restricted to Kinesiology majors.
Minimum Requirements for the position include: a Master’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent, and teaching experience in college level biological classes.
Preferred qualifications for the position include: a Ph.D. in biological sciences or equivalent. Experience in laboratory instruction and dissection involving the principles of human anatomy and physiology, ideally for the Kinesiology audience. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
