The Department of Biological Sciences at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2017 to teach BIOL 211_Introduction to Organismal and Population Biology.  This course is designed for biology majors.

Course Description:

BIOL 211 Introduction to Organismal and Population Biology. The second of a two-semester core sequence that provides the student with basic knowledge in biology, including specific experimental techniques and familiarity with the scientific method. Emphasizes physiology, development, diversity of life, evolution, and ecology. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory. Field trip(s) during or outside of class (including weekends) may be required.

*Classes run from 8/28/2017 through 12/9/2017, final exam will fall between 12/11/2017 and 12/16/2017.  Grades due 12/21/2017. 

Minimum Requirements for the position include:  a Master’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent, and teaching experience in college level biological classes.

Preferred qualifications for the position include:  a Ph.D. in biological sciences or equivalent.  Teaching experience with biological science majors courses or internships similar to the course description above.  Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
