Experimental Physics

California State University San Marcos has an opening for a tenure track assistant professor of physics to begin August 2015.

Minimum requirements for the position include: A Ph.D. in experimental physics, applied physics, or a closely related field; a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching; and ability to develop an active, experimental research program that involves undergraduates.

Preferred requirements for the position include: An interest in teaching undergraduate electronic courses is desirable. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated intercultural competence with diverse groups in teaching, research and/or service.

DUTIES: The successful candidate will develop and teach courses at the undergraduate level (including those with a lab) such as introductory and upper division physics courses, and general education courses; develop an active, externally funded research program in physics involving undergraduate students; and participate in activities serving the department, college, university and community.
