
FAS Division Accomplishments
Our division is comprised of incredibly talented and innovative professionals who have been recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally for their collaboration and expertise on many CSUSM and affiliated projects. Here’s a look at some of the awards and accolades our subdivisions have received over the years.
2020
- Accomplishment: IRM's Therese Jackson is now a Certified Praesidium Guardian after completing the youth protection certification program in Fall 2020. She was involved in the CSU systemwide work group effort to draft a youth protection guidance document, and completed the first draft of CSUSM's "Managing Risk in Youth Programs" document.
- Accomplishment: SH&S reactivated research laboratories for 40 principal investigators, and approved over 195 campus laboratory and field research applications
- Accomplishment: In April, SH&S collected and distributed nearly 3,000 units of PPE or CPE to local health care centers
- Accomplishment: SH&S distributed over 92,000 units of PPE and CPE to the campus community through the Covered Cougar Distribution Center
- Award: Jennifer Ralph (SH&S) received the 2020 Earnest & Leslie Zomalt Outstanding Service Award
- Award: Juliana Goodlaw-Morris (SH&S) and Ariel Stevenson (OIE) were awarded the Best Practice Award for Social Justice and Equity at the annual California Higher Education Sustainability Conference
- Award: Amber Perez (FDM) was the first place winner of the Summer 2020 CSUSM Innovation Challenge with her project: Joceyln Approach
2019
- Award: Infragard Alliance SD County Sector Chiefs of the Year - Erin Fullerton & Lamine Secka
