Quality Learning & Teaching (QLT)

The Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT; formerly QOLT) program was developed to assist faculty, faculty developers, and instructional designers to more effectively design and deliver online, blended, and flipped courses (e.g., Quality Assurance).

  • Faculty may apply for peer review of courses that have been taught before.
  • Priority will be given to faculty who have never had a course reviewed, although all are welcome to apply.
  • Peer reviews will be conducted by trained QA (Quality Assurance) Faculty Associates along with the help of an Academic Technology team member. Reviews will take place Fall 2020.
  • During AY 20/21 we will prioritize fall course applicants, with an additional round of applicants in the spring, pending funding.

Review Process

  • Complete the full instructor self-review using the QLT instrument (approx. 2 hours)
  • Meet your assigned peer reviewer and Academic Technology Team Member to discuss your review (1 hour)
  • Meet with your assigned Academic Technology Team Member to learn how to make the recommended improvements to meet the Core 24 criteria.
  • Changes to course are due by the end of the academic year.

You will receive $500 in professional development funds for having your course reviewed and making changes to meet the Core 24 criteria.
