Classroom Equity
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Faculty Center is committed to assisting faculty to learn more about diversity, equity, and inclusion in their curriculum, classroom, and work with students. For more information on current and upcoming DEI programs and events hosted by the Faculty Center, contact Dr. Robert Gutierrez-Perez, Faculty Fellow for Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice.
Using Data to Support Student Success
As faculty think about serving our students, it is important to understand the ever-evolving student population and impact of our efforts to support student success and equity. Access to data about current trends in student demographics, behaviors, and academic outcomes at the course, program, and institutional levels can aid in our professional development and our ability to help students.
In an effort to facilitate this data-informed professional development, several resources have been created by the Office of Institutional Planning & Analysis in partnership with the Faculty Center to help faculty begin this journey.
Understanding who our students are and their experiences enables us to better connect with, motivate, and inspire our diverse student body. This knowledge can help faculty meet both personal and institutional goals surrounding student success, diversity, and equity. We encourage you to engage with these data in an explorative way, using them to generate new questions and ideas for how we may work individually and collectively to better serve students.

Accessibility
The CSU requires faculty to provide accessible materials as part of their Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI). The Accessible Technology Initiative calls for accessible classroom materials and
includes all course materials and university websites. Existing material may need
to be revised or reformatted to allow access to all viewers/students.
