New Faculty Institute for Tenure Track Faculty
Every year, the Faculty Center hosts the new cohort of faculty at the New Faculty Institute. The New Faculty Institute (NFI) consists of two kinds of activities. First, there is a multi-day orientation program provided in August that is especially designed to help new faculty to be successful in their first semester as a tenure-track faculty member. The institute also consists of a number of workshops that occur throughout the academic year. Workshop topics include teaching, research, networking, and campus resources. During the semester, sessions are held on Fridays and include lively discussions, panels, and even field trips! NFI Fridays will include lunch and refreshments as well as an opportunity to interact with colleagues.
You are represented by the California Faculty Association, a union of 27,000 professors, lecturers, librarians, counselors and coaches who teach in the California State University system. In classrooms on the 23 CSU campuses, CFA members work hard to teach our students. Join as an active member with rights to vote and engage fully on behalf of yourself and others.
