The Faculty Center supports faculty at any stage of the tenure process. We offer workshops, and one-on-one guidance on assembling your WPAF.
The Faculty Center is also supporting the campus efforts to uncover and address implicit bias in all areas of our work, including the RTP process. Last week Senate approved changes to the University RTP document that required PRC training on bias in student evaluations of instruction. The Faculty Center will be collaborating with OIE to start offering anti-bias training to reviewers in the next academic year.
In light of this change, below is a starting point with anti-bias resources for you to review prior to your service on a PRC/PRT.
First, complete one of the implicit bias tests offered by Project Implicit at Harvard.
Then watch the videos below. This video series, from UCLA Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, provides a foundation of understanding implicit bias, as well as practical tips on how to address it. All videos are recommended (~30 min total), but for a quick intro, see the highlighted videos.
Watch for announcements regarding Peer Review Committee and implicit bias training in the coming year.
