Student Engagement

When most people think about the teachers that have inspired them, they often think of the ones that inspired them or made the information of the class leap off the page. There is a great deal of literature about trying to achieve these moments, when teachers are able to engage their students and make create meaningful learning experiences. While there are some timeless teaching techniques, which have showed results across time, the goal of engaging students is often a moving target. As culture changes with time, so do students. Their experiences, backgrounds, motivations and learning styles shift with culture. Instructors need to revaluate and take stock often to see if their techniques are engaging the strengths of the current student body.

This section will share links and articles that address the process of understanding students, how they learn, and how we engage them.
