As our population ages, a growing number of people will encounter life-limiting illness and need specialized care—palliative care—to manage symptoms, ease suffering, and improve their quality of life, either alongside curative treatment or without it.
At the CSU Institute for Palliative Care (Institute), our mission is to make palliative care accessible to everyone, everywhere. Headquartered at CSUSM, the Institute is an online education program that equips current and future healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines with the palliative care skills needed to support patients and families at every stage of serious illness.
Since 2012, the Institute has trained more than 8,000 doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other healthcare professionals in all aspects of palliative care. The working healthcare professionals who have completed our courses use their palliative care skills to ease the physical, psychosocial and spiritual suffering of countless vulnerable patients and families.
YOU can help us educate this vital workforce and make palliative care accessible to all who need it. Please donate today!
