The OGSR Grants and Contracts Development team and Faculty Grant Support Fellow Dr. Gerardo Dominguez are offering a Summer 2022 Bootcamp: Effective Grant Writing for Any Discipline
The goal of this program is to provide faculty with time and support to write a proposal for external funding. This upcoming Summer Bootcamp will be open to all disciplines and funding agencies. We anticipate making six awards. Recipients for the Summer 2022 Bootcamp will be expected to devote some time during the early part of summer 2022 to lay the groundwork for their proposals in addition to the full-time commitment for three weeks to write the project narrative and prepare supplementary proposal documents. Further, they will be expected to participate in programming such as workshops on proposal and budget development, one-on-one consultations, and peer review sessions. Participants will be expected to submit a proposal to an external funder within 12 months and will be paid up to $4,500 for their participation at the end of the bootcamp.
This bootcamp will be mostly virtual with the possibility of a few in-person sessions depending on current conditions and participants’ preferences.
This call is open to all faculty across disciplines who plan to submit a proposal and can confirm their ability to attend the workshops and fulfill the writing commitment.
Preference will be given to faculty who have not served as Principal Investigator or Project Director on a major grant and to those who have not received GPSM funding in support of the proposal. Those who are preparing to resubmit an unfunded proposal are also encouraged to apply.
Applicants may receive a follow-up request for clarification after submitting the application. Applicants are strongly encouraged to have spoken to a program officer regarding their proposed idea and the strength of its fit with the particular grant program.
