Internal Support for Proposal Development
When it comes to additional resources for the proposal development process, there are several internal mechanisms of support for faculty and staff.
CSUSM
Grant Proposal Seed Money is intended for those who need to conduct preliminary or pilot work in order to develop a competitive submission.
Grant Writing Support Programming (Bootcamps) are generally intended for those who are getting started in their pursuit of external funding. These are offered during the non-academic year and include peer review and workshops/presentations. Participants are compensated for their time.
Ad-hoc Review Grants and Contracts Development has supported ad-hoc review honoraria for subject matter experts. Please inquire with a Grants and Contracts Development team member to ask for details.
CSU Chancellor’s Office
The CSU Chancellor’s Office of Research Department also supports proposal development. Dr. Leslie Ponciano, Director of Research Opportunities, offers comprehensive and individualized strategic proposal review with feedback within 1 – 2 weeks. She will review proposals from any discipline and any level of funding (preferably external opportunities). Send a mature draft of the proposal/project summary/LOI (preferably as a word.doc) with the RFP and any available supporting application documents via email.
