Proposals for external support through CSUSM must be submitted through Grants and Contracts Development. CSUSM Corporation will be the legal applicant. Grants and Contracts Development staff, on behalf of CSUSM Corporation, ensures compliance with applicable government regulations, CSU policies, and sponsor guidelines regarding proposal submission. This applies to the following mechanisms: grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, subawards, letters of intent, and, where deemed appropriate for post-award administration, private funding gifts with oversight requirements.
The Sponsored Projects Approval Form (SPAF) is circulated with the proposal abstract and budget by Grants and Contracts Development to signatories for approval. We expect that a final budget be ready 10 business in advance of the deadline to ensure the SPAF process can be completed prior to submission.
Coming Soon: CSUSM will soon route proposals through our new research administration software, Cayuse. The Proposal Form is expected to go live in September of 2021.
Proposal Assembly and Submission
Proposal assembly and submission is coordinated through Grants and Contracts Development through grants.gov, Research.gov, NSPIRES, or another submission platform.
