Internship Application

Applications are OPEN for FALL 2023. DEADLINE DUE MAY 19th, 2023. 
Internship Mandatory Certified Peer Education Training is 16 hours.
Trainings will be held in Mid-August 2023.

Internship Position (Non-Paid)

1. The HOPE & Wellness Center Interns (6-8 hours per week)

Interns educate and empower students to make healthy lifestyle choices. Students selected for the program will work with the health promotion staff in developing programs, events, workshops for the campus community in one or more of the following areas: Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs, Sexual Health, Nutrition & Physical Health, Mental Health, Healthy Relationships, and Sexual Violence or any other health topic. 

Volunteer Peer Educator Position

2. Healthy Cougars Peer Educators (4-6 hours per month)

This is a group of volunteer certified peer educators who are trained and committed to promoting awareness and advocating health and wellness related issues to the Cal State San Marcos community. They are trained to help encourage and educate their peers to make healthy lifestyle choices through outreach, workshops, group discussions and campus awareness events. Healthy Cougars Peer Educators (HCPE) help staff the HOPE & Wellness Center programs throughout the year.

3. Sexual Violence Peer Educators (4-6 hours per month)

This is a group of students who provide education to the CSUSM community related to healthy relationships, sexual assault, relationship violence, healthy masculinity, bystander intervention, stalking, and resources. SVPE's are trained volunteers who work closely with the Sexual Violence Advocacy & Education staff and co-facilitate virtual presentations to various communities on campus (fraternities, sororities, classrooms, etc.).
