Resident Advisors and Residential Peer Mentors
Are you interested in becoming a part of the Housing & Residential Education team? Do you want to learn how to put on programs and events, help residential students succeed at CSUSM, and help keep our residential communities safe? Are you looking for a way to develop your leadership skills in a position that will prepare you for any career you’re interested in? Are you ready to join our team and help us grow and develop our communities? If so, we think you would be a great candidate for an RA or RPM position!
Application Opens 1/20 - 2/13
The RA/RPM application will open on January 20, 2025 and will close on February 13, 2025.
To be considered, the completed application must be submitted by February 13, 2025. Attendance of an Informational Session is also required (attend one, either in-person or virtually via Zoom).

Resident Advisors (RAs) and Residential Peer Mentors (RPMs) live and work on campus supporting the success of residential students.
Submissions due by February 13th, 2025 11:59 pm
Details
- 20 hours per week
- Compensation includes housing at no charge
- RAs also receive a meal plan
- Contracts are from July 2025 - May 2026
- Includes mandatory training for the entire month of August
Eligibility
- Have been a CSUSM student for at least 1 semester at the time of your application
- Be involved in no more than 10 hours a week of other commitments (i.e. other jobs, leadership positions, etc.)
- Meet the cumulative and semester GPA requirements for the role
- RAs: 2.5 or higher
- RPMs: 2.75 or higher, with a 3.0 preferred
- Be in good judicial standing with Housing and CSUSM
- Meet all deadlines for the application process. No exceptions. (February 13th, 2025 at 11:59 pm.)
