Resignations refer to a voluntary separation initiated by an employee. The effective date of a resignation is determined by the employee.

A two-week written notice of resignation is customary. Employees are encouraged to give their MPP supervisor more than a two-week notice when possible.  Human Resources will follow up with an employee who has submitted their notice of resignation on how to complete the sign-out/Payroll clearance process and will provide a link to complete a voluntary exit interview survey.

Exiting employees are responsible for returning all state-issued items to the university.  Questions about benefits (CalPERS, COBRA, etc.) can be directed to an HR Analyst at extension 4418.
