For my WMST 301 course, I adopted a more affordable textbook which saved my students up to $71.56. I worked with the bookstore to ensure an affordable retail price and committed to using the text for at least the next 2 years.
I also calmed my WMST 345 course by working closely with the bookstore, which now
carries an older edition of the Gender and Violence textbook I require. Now that I've adopted this earlier edition, students are able
to purchase used copies for under $50. Students were also able to purchase used copies
of another required text for under $10, and I used e-reserves and open-access articles
to supplement other readings. These changes resulted in up to $80 in savings for students.
Student performance on quizzes were very high for this course. Using e-reserves and open-access articles worked well for this class, and is something I will definitely continue into the future offerings of the course.
