Important Email Change Coming

Yellow caution message about possible email phishing attempts

What: The Yellow banner above will appear on any email message sent from outside our organization.

Why: The banner is intended to help you identify possible phishing attempts that could originate from outside our organization. If the message looks like it originated from a CSUSM account and includes this banner, then it might be a phishing attempt.

When: The change will go in effect on Tuesday, Dec. 10th.

Important: Not every email with this banner is phishing or spam. The banner simply signifies that it originated outside the campus community. Even with internal campus messages that included attachments or links, always exercise caution.
