Assertiveness Training

Dr. Lissa Lim

During this 90-minute interactive session, Dr. Lissa Lim will share an overview of common models of assertiveness and share techniques to self-advocate and set boundaries in our work and personal lives. The session will begin by addressing the topics listed and will include opportunities for participants to interact with each other and the presenter, as well as opportunities to practice various techniques in a safe environment!

 

Bio:

Dr. Lissa Lim is a bilingual licensed psychologist working at Student Health and Counseling Services. She is a CSUSM alum, having earned her BA and MA in psychology at CSUSM, and then earning her PhD in Counseling Psychology at Southern Illinois University. She specializes in Latinx mental health, working with immigrant communities, and working with survivors of trauma. She has experience teaching psychology at various universities, working in private practice, consulting, and conducting psychological assessments. Besides loving working at CSUSM, Dr. Lim also loves gardening, cooking, and considers herself a “foodie” and a cat lover.
