When to Apply

When and How to Apply for Admission to the
Traditional BSN or LVN to BSN Programs at CSU San Marcos

You must complete a separate, online application to the School of Nursing for entry to either of these two Nursing programs.  The LVN to BSN program is only for students who hold an active California LVN license, and whose Nursing course credits and grades appear on a regionally-accredited college or university transcript, except for military-trained applicants.

Students will apply Oct. 1 through Nov. 30, one year in advance, for the following Fall admission cycle. There is a $50 fee when you apply.  Pre-Nursing Core coursework must be completed the previous spring term for fall entry to the program.  For the Traditional BSN program, student will have until the end of the previous spring term to complete the TEAS exam or for other coursework, the LOTER, or volunteer/work experience to be applied toward admission to the program. Please visit the Nursing Application link for instructions and deadlines.

If you plan to apply for entry to the Nursing programs offered through Extended Learning, such as the Accelerated BSN, RN to BSN, or RN to MSN programs, please consult the Extended Learning Web site for the program application timelines and entry requirements.  You may also want to attend one of the Nursing Information Sessions, offered through Extended Learning, for any of these specific Nursing programs.
