Details:

Kick off your summer with a once in a lifetime trip backpacking through the pristine backcountry of the Sierras. We will spend the first day camping nearby and acclimate to the higher elevation while prepping our backpacks for the journey ahead. We'll get an early morning start and head off to the trail head where we will backpack about 5 miles the first day. You'll get a first hand look at some of the most wonderous landscapes in North America, with cascading peaks and frigid alpine lakes. After a few days in the pristine wildereness, we'll headback to the vans and make our to our lakeside and riverside campgrounds and grab some local delicassies. We plan to do some day hiking, hot spring hunting, and scrambling in the climbing epicenter of California before heading back to campus! Please note that to get to these locations takes some drive time. We recommend bringing a portable battery charger, book, or other items to make a drive more comfortable.

**Must be able to carry 40+ lbs and comfortable hiking long distances at various elevations**
