CSUSM Food Safety Certificate

All persons working in a temporary food booth on the CSUSM campus must be trained in food safety. The CSUSM Food Safety Certificate is available to CSUSM faculty staff, and students as an alternative to the County of San Diego food handler’s card.  This certificate is only valid on campus and expires after one year.  To earn the certificate, complete the online Food Safety course offered through the ETC or schedule a live class for your organization.

To complete the online training:

  1. Log in to the ETC via the "LearnerWeb Login" button
  2. Select the “Course Catalog” tab at the top
  3. Enter “food safety” into the search bar
  4. Click on the folder icon
  5. Click launch
  6. Complete the training
  7. Select the “My Menu” tab at the top and click “My Transcripts” on the dropdown menu
  8. Locate the Food Safety course and click on “Print” to print or save your certificate
