Advancement Services & Budget

Advancement Services is responsible for processing, recording and maintaining all gifts and gift documentation to the CSUSM Foundation, along with constituent biographical records management, prospect research, prospect management, data analytics, and serving as a strategic thought partner for University Advancement. The department supports major gift fundraising, annual giving, alumni relations and University administration. Functional areas include Gift Processing and Reporting, Database Administration, Portfolio Management, Prospect Research, Foundation Project Administration, and Budget and Resources and is led by the Assistant Vice President of Advancement Services. 

Foundation Project Administration is housed within Advancement Services and supported by the Director of Foundation Project Administration.  Gifts and contributions are recorded in Foundation general campus programs, endowments, or scholarships projects. Foundation Project Administration is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and administering Foundation project accounts. The administrative role includes initiating and maintaining Foundation project agreements for the campus, serve as a resource for campus partners, and provide training programs to educate and inform the campus community on their roles and responsibilities for Foundation funds.

Budget and Resources is responsible for the financial oversight of the University Advancement division resources and planning. Financial oversight includes the division budget, financial reporting to campus budget office, leadership and the Chancellor's Office, and accounting reconciliations. The Budget and Resources department is responsible for all the documentation for personnel hiring, separations and any employee status changes.
