Introduction

Emily Tarr is an Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business Administration at California State University San Marcos. Prior to joining CSUSM, Dr. Tarr earned her Ph.D. at The Ohio State University (Fisher College of Business) in Organizational Behavior and received her B.A. at University of Michigan in Psychology in Spanish. Dr. Tarr is an especially passionate educator in the subjects of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. She seeks to engage her students in active learning and guide them to apply concepts to real-life situations.

Her research examines power, influence, and teams in organizational settings, and has been published in outlets such as Journal of Organizational Psychology, Journal of Management Education, Journal of Marketing Education, and Management Teaching Review. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Management and Organizational Behavior Teaching Society and serves on the Editorial Board for Management Teaching Review. When she is not working, Dr. Tarr enjoys exercising, reading novels, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
