Holds & Notifications

Holds are indicators placed on your record that can prevent you from taking certain actions (e.g., enrolling in classes or requesting a transcript).  

Notifications are important reminders or indicators that do not affect your enrollment or other activity on campus, but simply provide an indication of a status (e.g., course drop protection) or important reminder of actions that need to be taken in order to avoid a hold (e.g., immunization record submission). 

Below is a list with details for how to get the holds and notifications removed, as well as a screenshot for where to find them in the student center.

Academic Disqualification

Prevents you from enrolling in classes

Your overall or CSUSM cumulative GPA has fallen below the minimum GPA for your academic level.

Academic Notice

Prevents you from enrolling in classes

Your overall or CSUSM cumulative GPA has fallen below 2.0.

COVID Out of Compliance

Prevents you from enrolling in classes

You have not submitted proof of immunization from COVID-19 (or have an approved medical or religious exemption) to Student Health and Counseling Services.

Submit proof of immunization. More information and instructions can be found on the Student Health and Counseling Services website.

HEPB Out of Compliance

Prevents you from enrolling in classes 

You have not submitted proof of immunization from Hepatitis B to Student Health and Counseling Services.

Submit proof of immunization. More information and instructions can be found on the Student Health and Counseling Services website.

Housing Hold

Prevents you from enrolling in classes 

You have a past due balance on your housing account.

Contact Student Housing; for office hours and contact information, visit the Student Housing website.

Library Hold

Prevents you from enrolling in classes 

You have not returned borrowed materials to the library by the deadline.

Contact library services at (760) 750-4348 or visit the 3rd floor of the Kellogg Library.

MMR Out of Compliance

Prevents you from enrolling in classes 

You have not submitted proof of immunization from MMR to Student Health and Counseling Services.

Submit proof of immunization. More information and instructions can be found on the Student Health and Counseling Services website

Not Anymore Training Hold

Prevents you from enrolling in classes 

You have not completed the Not Anymore online sexual violence prevention training.

Complete the Not Anymore online training(s), available in MyCSUSM under Custom Links. More information is available on the Not Anymore website.

Parking Hold

Prevents you from enrolling in classes

You have a past due balance on your parking account.

Pay any parking citations online or mail to address listed on Parking and Commuter Services website.

Past Due Account

Prevents you from enrolling in classes 

You have a past due balance on your university account.

Pay your balance online in MyCSUSM or in-person at the Cashier counter in Cougar Central (Administrative Building, 3rd floor).

Student Financial Responsibility Agreement

Prevents you from enrolling in classes 

You must accept terms of financial agreement.

In your Student Center, accept the terms and conditions of the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement.

Notifications

Depending on your placement, you may be required to enroll in Early Start during the summer. Please view the details provided in the notification for more information.
