Student Org Giving

Student Organizations offer a wide variety of opportunities for students to enhance their academic and social life on campus. Students can choose from over 100 recognized student organizations to get involved with, or start their own!

As a result of getting involved, students develop a campus support network, build interpersonal skills, and engage in the Tukwut Experience. Student Organization leaders grow their leadership skills and plan fun activities for their organization and the campus at large.  Current student leaders report that their communication, interpersonal, and social skills have improved as a result of being involved on campus and in the CSUSM community.

Student Philanthropy Council

Established in 2011, the Student Philanthropy Council (SPC) is a committee of students dedicated to growing the culture of giving on campus and raising money for the Student Philanthropy Endowed Scholarship (SPES). Gifts to the SPES support students in their CSUSM journey. Gifts may also go to the donor's specific designation choice.

Thank You!

CSUSM Giving Day 2021 on Tuesday, November 30th had record breaking success as CSUSM raised $457,193 in just a 24-hour period, mainly utilizing social media. A big part of that was our students who stepped up to the plate in a big way!  In fact, 360 student gifts were received, supporting areas such as Educational Opportunity Program, ASI Cougar Pantry, DREAMer Resource Office, Men's Cross Country/Track & Field Scholarships, and many more.

Once again, our CSUSM community showed incredible heart for students and student success at CSUSM.

Top Reasons to Give

  1. Others gave before you! The reason many programs, scholarships, and other opportunities at CSUSM exist is because of the generosity of past students, alumni, and friends of the university. Learn how 28 Years of Philanthropy at CSUSM impacts you and your fellow students.
  2. Most students receive financial aid to support their education each year. Gifts to the SPES means more scholarships are awarded to students. Read about past scholarship recipients!
  3. Your generosity helps to grow an environment of "giving back" at CSUSM.
