Managing the Course Schedule with Excel

  • Thursday, Feb 20
  • Thursday, Feb 27
  • Thursday, March 12

Rick Fierro, Associate Dean of CSTEM will facilitate this session.

Chairs and Program Directors are typically responsible for building the schedule for their department each semester. We will offer workshop participants an opportunity to learn how to use a “copy-and-paste-and-enjoy” Excel file to help you manage the schedule, track assignments for instructors, and monitor enrollment/waitlists.   The Excel file (“Enrollment Summary”) processes the schedule from a Psoft query in a useful way that is easy to learn, remember, adapt, and maintain.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Access the schedule for your college and copy/paste the schedule into the Enrollment Summary file.
  • See unassigned courses.
  • See assigned courses.
  • See courses assigned to a specific instructor.
  • Monitor workload for each instructor.

Each workshop participant will leave with an Excel file that they can use for their college. No previous experience with Excel is necessary to become proficient with the Excel file.
