  • The Brand You: Becoming the CEO of Me, Inc. on LinkedIn

    Wednesday, July 7 | 3:00–4:00 pm | Zoom

Everywhere you look, there is a logo that represents a brand. Most of us have a closet full of polos and T-shirts representing the brand we work for: CSUSM. We are branded in just about every way imaginable, and it is time to take a lesson from the big brands, a lesson in what it takes to stand out and prosper in our current world of work.

No matter your age, no matter your position, no matter the industry, all of us need to understand the importance of branding. We are the CEOs of our own companies, Me, Inc., and to be in business today our most important job is to be head marketer for the brand called YOU.

The most common answer that people have when asked about LinkedIn is that “it is a Facebook for professionals.” While many do use LinkedIn like Facebook, LinkedIn is a site to build and manage your personal brands by connecting with the right people, posting relevant and engaging content, and building relationships. In this course you will:

    • Understand what professional branding and social capital are and how to build both.
    • Evaluate the metrics of LinkedIn through the Social Selling Index, profile views, and post views.
    • Evaluate LinkedIn through Social Selling and identify who the right people are, how to post engaging content, and build relationships.
    • Create a LinkedIn profile that is relevant to your current brands and your future goals, then leverage that LinkedIn profile to find people who are relevant to your professional brand and future goals.
    • Analyze the features provided by LinkedIn Premium to determine if subscribing to LinkedIn Premium is the right move for you.

  • Face Change or Be Dragged

    Monday, October 19, 2020 | 3:00–4:00 pm | Zoom

"Face change or be dragged" is a Zen proverb that embodies the notion that change will find you and you're better off facing than avoiding it. Change is something that you will face in every aspect of your life and it many times comes with anxiety and stress. • Give you some tools to cope with unexpected changes, plan for the foreseen changes, and empower yourself to not be dragged through changes but to face them with confidence and courage!
    • Help you to better understand why change is good and the benefits of listening to your intuition.
