Long-Range Academic Master Plan (LAMP)

Long-Range Academic Master Plan (LAMP)

2022-23 Charge

The Long-range Academic Master Plan (LAMP) Task Force will develop an academic master plan that aligns with CSUSM’s new strategic plan; features programs that meet the priority workforce needs of the region, in a variety of formats and modalities; and provides access to underserved and nontraditional student populations, including veterans and adult learners.

LAMP will make recommendations regarding the development of new program areas and their potential implementation timelines. LAMP’s recommendations should be independent of resource implications and plans should be flexible enough to accommodate various state funding scenarios.

Although BLP and UCC may recommend the adoption of proposals for programs not considered by LAMP, LAMP’s recommendations must be taken into account by BLP and UCC in the evaluation of new proposals.

In considering prioritizations and making its recommendations, LAMP should take into account, among other things, the following considerations:

  • CSUSM's mission, vision and values
  • The Power of CSUSM, the University’s Strategic Plan
  • The University Academic Master Plan
  • The colleges’ academic master plans,
  • State and regional needs (including but not limited to demographic projections and regional economic and employment data)
  • Projected student demand
  • Audiences served by various modalities
  • Collaborations among CSUSM's programs and colleges
  • Potential collaborations with community partners and other campuses
