MBA Workshop: Entrepreneurship

The challenge of creating something from nothing is engaging to some and frightening to others. However, economies are often built and expanded largely as a result of new venture creation at the hands of individuals who have experienced an entrepreneurial seizure and have stepped off the edge of entrepreneurship. This choice to engage in entrepreneurship is not without significant challenges, but the entrepreneur embraces the challenges in pursuit of alleviating a pain or pursuing a purpose and a passion.

In this workshop, students are invited to explore the key elements of new venture creation: environmental scanning and opportunity identification; ideation and creativity; market-based iteration and development; and launch and refinement. Additionally, students confront the common myths of entrepreneurship and are provided a framework for working on their business, not just in their business.
