The College Fee Waiver for Veterans dependents waives mandatory system-wide tuition and fees if eligibility criteria are met; use of the Fee Waiver may be applied to state-supported programs only.

Some academic programs at CSUSM are considered self-supported, commonly referred to as extension courses or extended education and are not covered under the Fee Waiver because these courses, degrees, and certificates are neither funded by the state, nor are they system-wide programs. The Cal Vet Waiver does not cover the expense of books, parking, room and board or campus fees.

Summer term offers both Extended Learning programs and state side classes.  Be sure to enroll in state side classes to have your Cal Vet waiver applied.  Extended Learning classes are not covered by Cal Vet.

Winter term is offered by Extended Learning and Cal Vet cannot be used.
