Brianna Phillips

Hello everyone, my name is Brianna my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Sexual Violence Peer Educator. In 2020 I received my Bachelors in Criminology & Justice Studies with a minor in Psychological Sciences. I am now continuing my educational career at CSUSM as a grad student working towards my Masters's in Sociological Practice. In the future, I plan on pursuing a career in victim advocacy through law enforcement or a nonprofit. Cal State San Marcos has become my home away from home. I am thrilled at the prospect of helping educate, support, and empower students to reach their full potential and enrich our campus community. I am also a Student Building Lead at the USU, so you will usually find me on campus.

But outside of school, I enjoy painting, crafting, going to concerts, & traveling. I also like to squeeze in as much quality time as possible with my close friends and family, especially my dog Bruce. 

Danielle Barcena

Hello! My name is Danielle Bárcena and my pronouns are she/her/hers/ella. I received double Bachelors degree in Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies from CSUSM. Now I am pursuing a Master in Public Health with a concentration in Health Promotion and Health Education. I am excited to serve as an SVPE to empower our community with information and resources. I hope to contribute to an environment where people and society no longer need to be burdened by the impacts of sexual violence.

Outside of school, I am working as a Public Health AmeriCorps member and recently became a certified accessibility professional. Besides learning and helping others, I enjoy being in nature, writing, and bird photography.

Dazie Miller

Hi Cougars, I am so excited to take on a new role this year as a Sexual Violence Peer Educator. I have become passionate about advocating for survivors and being able to teach others about this very important topic. I am so happy I am able to use my voice for others who cannot. During my free time I enjoy going to concerts, hanging out with friends and using art for self care. 

Kayla Bonilla

Hello! My name is Kayla and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a fourth-year student majoring in Sociology with an emphasis in children, youth, and families. My involvements on campus include TRIO SSS, being an orientation team leader, and a sexual violence peer educator. 

Outside of school I enjoy traveling, taking care of all my house plants, and going to concerts. I love squish mallows, Hello Kitty, and my two dogs; Teddy and Benny. I am extremely excited to be taking on my role as a peer educator and hopefully I can help spread information and bring awareness.

Karen Antonio

Hey, y’all! My name is Karen Antonio my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a second-year student at CSUSM majoring in Child Development with a minor in Psychological Sciences. In the future, I plan to become a child psychologist/clinical psychologist and especially help out children with low-income backgrounds.

I am beyond excited to be a Sexual Peer Violence Educator and provide resources and information to others about sexual violence as well as a safe environment. Outside of school, I enjoy writing and reading books as well as hanging out with my friends.

Priscilla Al-Rayes

Hi! My name is Priscilla and my pronouns are she/her. I'm a third year criminal justice major looking to pursue a career within the fields of law and crime analysis. Currently on campus, I am a peer educator, as well as an orientation team leader and I work with the University Communications office.

I enjoy spending my free time with friends typically going to the beach, trying new foods, or just hanging out at home. I’m very academic driven, so when I’m not with my friends, I’m typically doing school work. When I’m done with my school work, you can find me reading, listening to music, or watching netflix.

Vanessa Aparicio

Hello! My name is Vanessa Aparicio and my pronouns are she/her. I’m a third year Kinesiology major with a minor in Spanish. After I graduate from CSUSM, I plan to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. I love being involved on campus and I am currently an Orientation Team leader, an SVPE, and I am also involved in greek life. I like spending my free time with my friends and family, or taking time to take care of myself. 

I am so excited to serve campus as an SVPE this year, and to be the voice for those unable to speak up. I care so much about others and I can’t wait to be the person that my peers can rely on.
