She reveals cultural and psychological factors that contributed to her eating disorder, and answers questions about why black women often do not seek therapy for emotional, disordered eating. Covington-Armstrong brings important awareness of minorities with eating disorders; and connects to the social justice issues related to early detection, intervention, treatment and recovery.
