Alycia McGeever

Alycia McGeever (she/her)

Alycia is from San Jose, California. She is a UC Irvine alum with a Sociology and Education Sciences BA. She then received her Master's in Postsecondary Educational Leadership from San Diego State. She started her Student Affairs career at CSUSM as a Graduate Assistant in 2019 and as the center’s Interim Coordinator in 2021! Her contributions have been instrumental in shaping the center's direction, including chairing the Women's Leadership Symposium and establishing a volunteer program. Alycia has also taken the lead in organizing large-scale events, further solidifying her commitment to advancing the WGEC's mission. Working at the WGEC is a dream come true as it combines her love of intersectional feminism and student advocacy! Her previous experience with organizations such as Girl Scouts and Girls Incorporated underscores her commitment to empowering young women and instilling belief in their potential. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new food spots, and baking. Stop by the center to say hi!

Dulce Jimenez

Dulce Jimenez (she/her)

Dulce is a first generation latina college student from Brawley, California . Dulce graduated this past spring from CSUSM with a bachelor’s degree in History. She is currently starting her master’s degree at PLNU in the Master’s of Higher Education program. Dulce is very excited to be the Women & Gender Equity Center’s Graduate Assistant having previously served the center when she was a student as Volunteer and Peer Educator. Dulce is very passionate about advocating for gender equity and social justice. As Graduate Assistant, Dulce hopes to advocate for underrepresented communities at CSUSM. Dulce loves spending time with her family, her friends, and listening to a variety of music genres.

Alexis Lopez

Alexis Lopez is a transfer student to CSUSM from Southwestern College. She is studying Social Sciences with her primary subject being Psychology and her secondary subjects being Political Science and Communications. She is passionate about intersectional feminism and creating equity in all levels of education. Since both her parents are teachers, she firmly believes that education can empower all people and make the world a better place! When she isn't reading for her classes Alexis enjoys playing board games, watching cartoons, and shopping at Trader Joe's.
