The Southern California Professional Development Federation is a collaboration representing 28 districts in San Diego, Orange, and Riverside
Counties, 8 Charter Schools, Palomar & MiraCosta Colleges, the School of Education
at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), and the Education Studies Departmnet
at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD).
The mission of the SCPDF is to meet the needs of all students and staff in the areas
of curriculum, instruction, assessment and leadership in meeting the California State
Standards.
The mission can be accomplished by maximizing and focusing the resources of its members
for professional development, using a process of networking, collaborative articulation,
assessment, and evaluation.
All members of the SCPDF collaborative are committed to supporting the delivery of
quality pre-service, induction, and ongoing professional development activities. Workshops
are open to all educators countywide and are provided to member districts at a reduced
rate.
Brokering services are available to member districts. Membership requirements for
the districts are determined through a Memo of Understanding.
Professional development activities are held at individual districts, school sites,
the North County Regional Education Center, and other locations convenient to members.
Resources are shared among the collaborative partners and cost effective professional
development is specifically designed to address the needs of member districts (K-12).
Workshops are open to all educators countywide.
