Support Emerging Leaders
Help Build a Diverse Educational Leader Workforce by Supporting CSUSM Emerging Leaders!
There is a distinct and growing gap in diverse backgrounds between students and school leaders. This gap contributes to the academic and social gap of students. School leaders who do not reflect and support the diversity of their students may not have the resources, experience or knowledge to understand and connect with the students, their families, or the communities where the school exists.
Emerging Leaders creates a pipeline for diverse school teachers to become school leaders through focused support, mentorship, training, and education. The CSUSM School of Education is partnering with the San Marcos Unified School District (SMUSD) and additional San Diego County school districts, the Southern California Professional Development Center (SCPDF), and the Center for Culturally Proficient Educational Practices (CCPEP) to provide in-depth equity-based professional training to diverse teachers who seek to deliver high quality teaching and learning experiences for all learners.
