Judy Bauerlein, Ph.D.

Judy Bauerlein has worked extensively as a performer in both regional and New York theaters. She's performed new and collaborative work at the La Jolla Playhouse, the Southern Theatre in Minneapolis, Highways Los Angeles, Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia, the Lincoln Center Director's Lab, the Public Theatre (NYC) and Bread and Puppet Theatre (Vermont). Most recently she appeared in Jay Scheib’s adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s Platonov at the La Jolla Playhouse. Film credits include Deconstructing Harry, Diary of a City Priest, Drunks, and Free Land by Minda Martin. Dr. Bauerlein is an associate professor of theatre at CSUSM and teaches classes in theatre history and theory, acting, playwriting and theatre production.
