What is a University Student Union?

The University Student Union is a multi use building that provides services for students whether that is food, gaming, relaxing, meeting, or having fun.

What new food places will be in the USU?

There will be 5 new food concepts and a convenience store. There will be a Panda Express, Sub-Versions, WOW cafe, Wholly Habaneros, and Jazzman's Cafe and Bakery. The convenience store will also feature a Jamba ToGo. View food places.

How do I get a job at the USU?

We hire once per academic year for positions that include Operations, Information Services, and Activity Center Student Assistants. Learn more about our hiring.

What fun things are there to do in the USU?

In addition to the events and performances that are hosted in the building we also have an activities center that features table gaming, console gaming and tv lounge areas. Learn more about the Activities Center.

Will the building be green?

The building is rated LEED gold and has many green features including solar panels, a green roof, and heating/cooling features that economize our power consumption. Learn more about our Green Features.

There will be an amphitheater?

There will be a approx 400 capacity amphitheater in the center of the building which connects to the ballroom at stage level.

Will there be new spaces for events?

There will be a new 9,000 sq ft ballroom which is the largest programmable space on the campus which is also capable of being split into as many as 4 sections using moveable partitions for smaller events. There are also additional meeting rooms and spaces for the hosting of events. Learn about different spaces in the USU.

When will campus groups be able to host events in the USU?

There is not currently any date when people may start to reserve spaces in the USU. Programming will be somewhat limited the first semester the USU is open as we work out any complications first so that when reservations become open we are confident we can maximize and deliver on those events.
