Information For

Cesar Chavez Day of Service

We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community...Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.  ~ Cesar Chavez

Join CSUSM to recognize Cesar Chavez, a Mexican American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist. Cesar Chavez is considered a hero for farm laborers and is hailed as one of the greatest American civil rights leaders. To honor Cesar Chavez’s life and work, the Office of Civic Engagement and Student Life & Leadership have teamed up to offer the Cesar Chavez Day of Service. Join your fellow CSUSM students for a fun day of community service.  Participants will be transported by bus to the service sites. We will participate in a service project at each site, then return to campus for lunch and a reflection activity.

Open to CSUSM students, staff, & faculty.
