Tell us a little about you.
I was born and raised in San Diego, went to Mt. Carmel High School, studied undergrad at Cal Poly SLO, and did my Master’s at CSUSM. I taught junior high science and was also the ASB director. Then I became the assistant principal in 2013, and in 2015 I was selected as the principal of Del Dios Academy of Arts and Sciences. I am married with two kids and two dogs.
- What program(s) were you part of in the School of Education?
I was in the Middle Years Credential and the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential programs at CSUSM.
- What was something that you learned that you carry with you in your current position?
I learned to take the initiative to get real world experience such as attending meetings, shadowing, and taking in all the information that teachers don’t get to learn about. I also learned to always think of the next step and how I will conduct myself, essentially to be a sponge.
- What is something you recently accomplished?
I helped secure a $100,000 grant from Northrup Grumman to renovate a classroom with state-of-the-art technology.
- What is something we might not know about you?
I am a Padres fan, I love to work out, I eat Mexican food, and I play Counter Strike.
